The Latch Fund

  • Breastfeeding is normal & beautiful— but sometimes it’s just a struggle & that’s okay! Often when mothers feel unsuccessful in nursing, it is due to a lack of support.

We are here to stand in that gap.

The Latch Fund connects you with local Nurse Practitioner Jana Spillers and her lactation and pediatric expertise. Jana will do her best to help you understand the root of your challenges and work towards a care plan. Some challenges are more complicated than others, and may require further follow up with Jana or further care from other providers.

  • Sign up via the button below. We give out free care sessions 1-2 times per month and will get back to you as soon as our monthly funding is dropped, to book your appointment.

Our Nurse Practitioner, Jana Spillers, may reach out to gain more information about your needs or challenges. She will do her best to book you during a day/time that works best for you.

Please remember that this is a free session and you are required to show up on time, or manage a reschedule 24 hours in advance. Reschedules requested within less than 24 hours are subject to not be accepted. Please be respectful of your provider's time and connect directly with Jana (not Take Care) for any changes regarding your appointment.

  • Jana Spillers is a Nurse Practitioner, a Certified Lactation Consultant + a Plant-Based Pediatrician.

Jana Spillers work offers a variety of services to support parents in every stage of growing a family. She walks beside you through preparing for your little one and birth, to helping your kiddo through their second year, to offering consistent holistic consulting as you all grow together. While we love to celebrate every facet of Jana’s work, we think her most magnificent offering to the community is her care through Wonderfully Made Wellness Sanctuary!

Wonderfully Made Wellness Sanctuary started in McKinney, Texas, by two of North Texas’ holistic leaders. Passionate about health, WMWS partners with you to provide the education and support needed in order to raise the healthiest kids possible. Treating their clients like family, with a personalized approach that allows children to thrive, living life to the fullest, their care does not simply look at one symptom, but rather, takes the bigger picture into consideration— examining the physical, social and emotional well-being of a client as well as the family and larger environment. Wonderfully Made Wellness Sanctuary’s goal is to equip our clients with the right tools to manage their daily wellness.

As a Nurse Practitioner, Jana offers sick & well visits for kiddos through the second year, complex visits for ongoing concerns, lactation care and more! Not only does Jana office out of Our Wellness Community, she also offers at-home visits.

  • We are consistently looking for ways to increase accessibility for our communities. By shifting from a dedicated, singular time each month in a group setting, our Latch Fund now offers flexibility with those who are in need. Furthermore, The Latch Fund offers personal, one-on-one care that gives those receiving services the opportunity to have a greater experience.

Breastmilk Collective

  • Do give breastmilk to the community, a detailed list of all foods and liquids you are consuming is required for the safety of those we are giving the breastmilk to. Not all breastmilk given is a direct match to another individual. Jana Spillers is in charge of managing your drop off times and will require you to submit your diet via email when scheduling your drop off.

Contact Jana here to drop off your breastmilk.

  • Connect directly with Jana Spillers to review the current options of breastmilk. Every individual that submits breastmilk is required to list their diet so we can ensure your little ones’ dietary restrictions are taken care of. An appointment must be made with Jana to pick up the milk directly from her at the Our Wellness Community office.

Please note that breastmilk expires within 36 hours of moving from the freezer to the fridge, so keeping your appointment time with Jana is vital. No other provider in the space is allowed to manage this process, and thus you are only able to pick the milk up directly from Jana.

If you have to postpone or reschedule your appointment, you are required to let Jana know during your timeframe of pick up (at the latest) and that milk you reserved is not guaranteed at a later time. This is for the safety of the milk, and for the health of your child.

  • Jana Spillers is a Registered Nurse and a Certified Lactation Consultant. She is the individual running our Breastmilk Collective program.
